Scientific area: Life and Health Sciences

Academic requirements: The candidate should hold a PhD in the fields of Health Sciences, Biomedicine or related areas. We will value individuals with experience on working in level 2 and/or 3 security laboratories, protein quantification by ELISA and/or multiplex and knowledge in statistical methodology. Lack of experience on flow cytometry and/or cell culture (preferentially human primary cell lines) is an exclusion criteria. Applicants should have a very good knowledge of English language and excellent verbal and written communication skills in general.

Work plan: The Grant holder will be part of a project that aims understand which biological factors are responsible for the association between diabetes and tuberculosis. More specifically the candidate will evaluate immune system’s parameters in response to mycobacterial antigens in patients with diabetes and/or tuberculosis.
