Activity Outline: The fellow will be responsible for applying questionnaires and conducting in depth interviews at participants, as

Academic and professional requirements: Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Mathematics and/or Biostatistics. Professional experience in biomedical research will be strongly valued, particularly if involving longitudinal data collection in human populations focusing the project general topics. Professional experience in scientific research in academic institutions will also be valued, particularly if it included advanced methods of statistical analysis, namely using prediction models and structural equations modelling. Scientific publications as abstracts or full papers will also be valued. Candidates should be fluent in spoken and written English, preferably with certificate. Because of the project main goals, the scholarship recipient will be responsible for data analysis taking into account repeated measurements of the same individuals and the evaluation of the causal relationship of multiple systems. Health Sciences Academic requirements: The candidate should hold a PhD in the fields of
Health Sciences, Biomedicine or related areas. We will value individuals with
experience on working in level 2 and/or 3 security laboratories, protein
quantification by ELISA and/or multiplex and knowledge in statistical
methodology. Lack of experience on flow cytometry and/or cell culture
(preferentially human primary cell lines) is an exclusion criteria. Applicants
should have a very good knowledge of English language and excellent verbal and
written communication skills in general. Work plan: The Grant holder will be
part of a project that aims understand which biological factors are responsible
for the association between diabetes and tuberculosis. More specifically the
candidate will evaluate immune system’s parameters in response to mycobacterial
