Research Grant – One position
A research grant is available within the framework of the project "Understanding the dynamics of childhood body fat - the mediating effect of dietary patterns and eating behaviors (PTDC/SAU-EPI/121532/2010)" funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, taking place at the Institute of Public Health, University of Porto.
Scientific area: Health Sciences: Epidemiology, Public Health and Environment
Academic requirements: They can apply for this scholarship individuals with a graduation in Health Sciences and a final mark of 14 values or higher.
Will be valued:
- Training and experience in scientific research in the epidemiology field. - Autonomy in the statistical analysis of epidemiological data. - Good command of English, oral and written forms.
Activity outline : The research fellow will be responsible for field work tasks, such as data collection through questionnaires, anthropometric measurements, data handling and analysis, and production of scientific manuscripts.
Legislation and regulations: Lei Nº. 40/2004, from August 18 (Research Grant Holder Statute); Regulations for Advance Training and Qualification of Human Resources 2011.
Work place : Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, Portugal, under scientific supervision of Professor Andreia Oliveira.
Duration and Stipend: The grant will have the duration of 12 months (up to 24 months), with an expected beginning data of August 2012.
Value of monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the grant amounts to €745, according to the table of values of grants awarded directly by the FCT, IP in the country (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).
Selection methods: selection methods to be used are the following: curriculum evaluation (10 marks) and interview (10 marks), with the final rating of 20. Interviews will be held to a maximum of six candidates.
