A research grant is available within the framework of project FCOMP-01-0124-FEDER-019902 (Reference FCT PTDC/CS-ECS/120750/2010), entitled "Parenting roles and knowledge in neonatal intensive care units".
Academic requirements: Prospective applicants should hold a PhD in Public Health and a BSc in Psychology, and must preferably have previous experience in related areas, namely on reproductive health, and qualifications in quantitative and qualitative methods. Candidates are expected to write and to speak English with fluency.
Activity Outline: To handle and analyse quantitative and qualitative data; production of scientific papers.

Work place: Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, Portugal, under scientific supervision of Susana Silva.
Duration and Stipend: The grant will have an initial duration of 12 months, with a predicted starting date of August 2012, and a possible extension up to a period of 36 months. The financial aspects are outlined in the budget allowance of the project, which assigns a salary of 1495€ per month, in accordance with the FCT regulations for monthly maintenance stipend in Portugal (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).
Evaluation criteria and process: After curricular evaluation (0-10), an interview with the four first candidates may be requested to assess their relative merit (0-10). The final results of the evaluation will be available at http://www.ispup.up.pt/
